The heat here in Texas is unbearable. We are, no doubt, into the thick of the Summer. Your electric bills are probably skyrocketing as you read this! What can you do to help? We have an idea! Your roof and attic can be a problem area if they aren’t made to handle our Texas summers. Here are 4 ways to keep your attic cool (and your house cooler).
Install a static vent fan
When the temperature builds up in your attic, it needs somewhere to go, or it will affect the rest of your house! By installing an attic vent fan, you are letting the heat out and keeping the attic at a manageable level.
Install a powered attic fan
If you’re serious about keeping your electric bill down and your house cool, a powered attic fan will circulate the warm air and help move it out of your attic. Combined with a few attic vents, this is a great option to manage the temperature in your attic.
Install a radiant barrier
By spraying a radiant barrier coating inside your attic, you are keeping the sun’s rays out. If you can keep the sun’s rays out, your house will be much easier to cool down, saving you money in the long run!
Install ridge vents
Ridge vents are placed at the peaks of your attic. Everyone knows that heat rises, so these vents allow the heat at the highest points in your attic escape.
If you have any questions about any of these solutions, don’t hesitate to call us to find out more!
